Lauren Cingoranelli during Creighton's Blue & White Scrimmage (Adam Streur/WBR)

Fresh off his team’s Blue & White Scrimmage last Sunday, Bruce Erickson takes the CU women’s soccer team to Blain, Minnesota, for a neutral site exhibition against NDSU.

The last time these two programs met on the pitch, the Bison and Bluejays played to a 2-2 tie at Morrison Stadium during the 2010 regular season.

Lauren Cingoranelli scored a goal in that game as a freshman. Now a junior, Cingoranelli netted a few goals during Sunday’s scrimmage.

Sunday (August 12)

Creighton Men’s Soccer Blue & White Scrimmage (5:00 p.m.)

In Elmar Bolowich’s first season leading Creighton’s men’s soccer program, the Bluejays went 21-2-1 and returned to the College Cup for the first time since 2002. Ethan Finlay, Greg Jordan, and Brian Holt are gone, but Bolowich and Johnny Torres will field another talented squad in 2012. How could might they be? The NSCAA Preseason Poll tabbed the Jays #3 to start the season.

Fans can catch their first glimpse of Bolowich’s second CU squad at the Blue & White Scrimmage Sunday afternoon. Make sure you grab a roster and read Joey Tempo’s Class of 2012 recap (here); there will be plenty of new faces to track on the pitch.

Tuesday (August 14)

Creighton Women’s Soccer at Minnesota State-Mankato (5:00 p.m.)

The Bluejays’ second and final exhibition match of the 2012 season pits CU against the Mavericks from Minnesota State-Mankato. These two teams played an exhibition in 2009, too, with the Bluejays winning 3-1.
