Highlight Reel: Marquette and Seton Hall

(Ed. Note: In the mad crush to create end-of-season content for WBR such as the Big East Tourney Magazine and the Senior Tributes, Tom regretfully didn’t have time to get highlight reels compiled for the last three weeks of games. Over the next couple of days, he’ll rectify that situation. Today: highlights of the February 19 game at Marquette and the February 23 game against Seton Hall.)

On February 19, Creighton made their first trip to Milwaukee in nearly 20 years for a battle against new Big East rival Marquette. In a rough and tumble game, Creighton led almost wire-to-wire, thanks to a flurry of threes from Ethan Wragge in the first half and 17 second-half points from Doug McDermott. Here’s links to WBR’s postgame coverage, followed by a package of highlights from the victory.

Then on February 23, the Jays returned home for “Doug McDermott Bobblehead Day”, and treated the festive crowd to a nail-biter. Creighton missed 11 free throws, including four in the final minute, and needed a defensive stand on the final possession to come away with a win. All of the highlights, including the harrowing final seconds, are below after links to WBR’s postgame coverage.
