November 24, 2004 — Creighton beats Ohio State 65-63 in overtime to win its second Guardians Classic championship in three seasons.
On a night when Nate Funk struggled from the field (3-13 shooting for 8 points), Anthony Tolliver recorded his first double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Dane Watts came off the bench to chip in 9 points and 3 rebounds.
But the biggest shot of the evening came from Tyler McKinney. The Tournament MVP hit a jump shot with 5 seconds left to win the game and the tournament for the Bluejays. He finished the evening with 11 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds in more than 40 minutes of play.
