Way back in the day (OK, just a few years ago), the College World Series kicked off with games on the first Friday of the two-week championship tournament. Now the Series starts on Saturday, and the CWS folks reserve the first Friday for a fan celebration unique to any collegiate championship.
The 2010 Opening Ceremonies are special, of course, because they’re the last to be held in fabled Rosenblatt Stadium. So, the Powers That Be busted out the big guns: Living Legends of the College World Series, people parachuting into the stadium, fireworks, etc.
WBR photographer Adam Streur was there to capture the ceremonies. Check out the following photo gallery, and come back frequently during the CWS to see more of Streur’s exclusive photos from the last blast at the ‘Blatt.
