Creighton tipped off their 2023-24 season with a 105-54 win over Florida A&M. After the first couple minutes when the Jays didn’t score, they turned on the defense and ran away from the Rattlers. The starters sat for a majority of the second half.
Trey Alexander led the way with 20 points on an efficient 7-of-8 shooting from the field, while Baylor Scheierman put in 15 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the win. Steven Ashworth made his regular season debut and threw in 17 points, including 5-of-7 from three.
The Bluejays played with a second unit throughout a large part of the second half getting the bench some valuable minutes in the blowout.
