February 5, 1921 — Eddie Mulholland calls his Creighton basketball coaching career short after just 6 games.
According to the Creighton Men’s Basketball Media Guide:
Eddie Mulholland resigned on Feb. 5, 1921 in a dispute over a slick floor caused by a dance prior to the team’s loss one night earlier. Charles Kearney then took over as player-coach.
The team responded to the change by winning three straight games against Des Moines, Notre Dame, and Colgate.
