September 3, 2007 — Playing their final game of a preseason exhibition trip to Canada, Dana Altman’s Bluejays defeat Calgary for the second time in three days, 97-78.

Four Bluejays scored in double figures as Creighton almost eclipsed the century mark on the scoreboard, paced by Kenny Lawson Jr. (22) and Dane Watts (18).

Lawson ended the trip averaging 14 points per game, while Watts averaged 16 per contest. The Bluejays swept through the Battle of the Border event, winning five games in three days. The trip would pave the way for a team full of newcomers to post a 22-11 record and advance to the second round of the NIT..
