September 7, 2001 — The Creighton men’s soccer team travels to College Park and defeats the host #5 Maryland Terrapins 2-1 in the first of two FILA Maryland Classic matches.
A fast-break goal by Luis Del Monte off an assist by Jeremy Shelton led to Creighton’s first goal. The Bluejays’ second tally came on Mike Tranchilla’s strike from an assist from Julian Nash.
