September 9, 2000 — Bret Simon’s Creighton men’s soccer team defeats Northern Illinois 2-1 in Omaha, the Bluejays’ third straight win to start the 2000-2001 season. Lane Peercy and Brian Mullan tallied goals for CU.

Then ranked #14 in the country, the Bluejays would lose just three times in the regular season. It was a magical year for Creighton men’s soccer, one that ended with Simon’s Bluejays as national runners-up.
