You could call it the SI jinx, but I think WSU and their fans were just a bit much for the top team in the valley earlier in the week.  The Panthers, who dropped their first conference game, seemed to be a bit taken aback in the first half as the Shockers were able to come out strong and take a commanding lead.  Thought the Panthers showed a great effort in the second half, it was just too much for them to handle in the end.  They will now take their one conference loss on the road and look to rebound against the Sycamore of Indiana State.

“ISU Blue”, as I like to call them, found themselves in what looked to be an embarrassing loss earlier in the week as the trailed the Bears of Missouri State by 24 points.  Then, something happened.  Indiana State played some lock down defense, hit some key shots, and stunned the 7,000(+) Missouri State fans by putting the game into overtime with a Harry Marshall three-pointer with :01 on the clock.  Although the Sycamores fell in overtime, they proved something to themselves about not giving up no matter the drought.  With the culmination of the previous games for each of these teams, I am going out on a limb and calling for the upset.  ISU Blue in a close one.
