Today in Bluejay History (10/12)

October 12, 1929 — Creighton travels to Norman and loses to Oklahoma, 26-0.

After posting an 18-0 win against St. Mary’s College in their first game, the Bluejays were blanked by the Sooners.

It was the season-opener for Oklahoma, with the true test coming the following week against the Texas Longhorns. UT won 21-0. The Bluejays spent the week following the loss to Oklahoma playing OU’s in-state rivals, Oklahoma State. And like the Sooners the same week, Creighton lost. In fact, the Bluejays would lose three straight following the setback to the Sooners.
