Today in Bluejay History (10/23)

October 23, 2004 — Creighton’s volleyball team rallies from a 2-1 deficit to beat Wichita State in five sets.

The Shockers entered the match in first place in the Missouri Valley Conference, and WSU would eventually win both the regular season and conference tournament championships. But the Bluejays spent this night in late October putting an end to Wichita State’s 13-match win streak.

Leah Ratzlaff, a Wichita native, recorded 19 kills, 10 digs, and 6 blocks, Carolyn Decker put up 13 kills and 14 digs, and Janeen Piller dug out 35 WSU attempts on the night.
